Entwood Farm & Nursery

This site started in 1998 as a way to provide the nursery's newsletter online. The goal being: that it would cut down on the cost and time associated with monthly newsletter mailings; that by having this information readily available to them, customers would be able to make more informed decisions about their landscaping and herbal needs; and that this would be an easy way to communicate with directly with customers.

This site grew through the years through expansions, yearly face lifts and re-designs. It provided a wealth of information as well as some more lighthearted fare that popped up periodically like:

-occasional slide shows, displayed and for download;
-crossword puzzles on gardening subjects:
-rotating gardening quotes;
-seasonal gardening tips;
-searchable database of plants by name, color, best use, time of bloom and more;
-interactive FAQ section, where visitors ask question and answers are automatically added to site;
-news section for easy updates of nursery events and specials;
-display of NOAH weather in a variety of formats;
-3 separate article areas for different gardening genres;
-and a children's gardening activity center.

In 2005 this site was converted to a content management system. In the process there was a lot of cleaning out and re-organization of the content. White the size of the site and amount of material needing to be converted made this project into quite an undertaking, we never lost site of the original intention of the site. Sharing the owners love and knowledge of gardening and showcasing their extensive plant material.

2008 is about to see another transformation of this site. It is in the process of being split into two totally independent sites and is currently offline. Can't wait to see it done!
