This was quite an extensive job requiring a lot of thought, design and content manipulation to get all the information from different departments to flow in a smooth and cohesive manner.

The first step in this project was determining what information to include. We poured through an armload of the organization's promotional and member publications in order to identify the most relevant information in the site.

Next came the task of developing a logical blueprint; constructing the layout and navigation through the site by way of category/menu division and contextual links. This was an issue to resolve, given the complexity and scope of the site and the fact that the contents were gleaned from so many different sources yet were all inter-connected.

Once a plan was in place, it was time to convert it all the information into a format recognizable by computers. Database material, brochures, signs, even whole booklets and newsletters had to be converted.

Some information was scanned; converted into raw text then converted to code, while much of it had to be retyped as print formatting is different from web code.

All this information was transformed in such a way as to make it consistent with its printed counterpart. The images obtained in scanned format were converted to web format using three different conversion and graphic manipulation programs. The small logo icons and bullets were then designed by Olvaron in keeping with the organizations original logo graphics.

A 'members only' section was created as a way for the organization to keep members informed of news and other items of special interest. It included implementing 'members only' links for submitting articles to the newsletter as well as for submitting items in a classified section. At the same time, both the newsletter and classified sections were designed to be viewed and searched by the general public. The members section was also given a fully interactive forum.

While not all companies would need something quite so large and complex, this site nonetheless showcases the scope, magnitude and possibilities of our design capabilities.

NOTE: This site has since gotten a face lift by another design company. However it was decided to leave reference to it in here since it attests to the quality of complex website construction performed by Olvaron.
