This is a members only club site designed especially for it's young target audience. It is a login site, meaning it cannot be accessed without a members password. The troop leader decides who gets in.
The welcome page is a colorful and active flash designed page, suitable and exciting enough for its audience, but the inside is all about keeping the members informed.
This troop site opens with a leader's announcement page, which is easily updated. There is a links section with categories of interest to its members. Members can add their favorite links but the links don't get posted until reviewed and approved by the leader.
An activity area was included with flash games that are short in duration and range from easy to somewhat difficult. There are also online versions of some of the games we grew up with, including tic tac toe and monopoly. Some games are for one person and some are for two or more, or one player against the computer. This area also includes homework helpers for math, science and english.
The navigation is through colorful, large, descriptive images allowing even the youngest member to get around with ease. There is a perpetuating calendar with a nice selection of large, brightly colored icons which can be added to event postings for keeping members up to speed on coming activities. (These events icons again make it easy for even the youngest member to know what is coming up)
The site is designed with pleasing colors for its young audience. It is also without advertisements, clutter or unnecessary fluff. This site is a good example of how clubs and organizations can use our services to create a private place where members can stay abreast of club activities, intermingle and have fun. Let the purpose dictate the content!
